Mr. Shamimul Islam is currently working as an Associate Researcher at Bangladesh Institute of Legal Development (BiLD). He has some Publications that are published in magazine, newspapers and journal.  He wrote a Biography on Barrister Rafique Ul Huq: The Distinguished Lawyer of the Last Century for Bangladesh. One of his notable research works is ‘Preventive Detention and the Violation of Human Rights: Bangladesh in Context’ (2021). He is playing the role of Assistant Editor of BiLD Law Journal (ISSN 2518-6523), and Deputy Editor of BiLD Law Magazine (ISSN-L 2617-6971). Prior to that, he served as a Legal Assistant at ‘Legal Step’, a reputed law chamber located at Dhaka, Bangladesh. However, he obtained his LL.B (Hon’s) and LL.M Degree from Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). Besides, he worked for BUBT Law Moot Court Society as a Vice-President. Moreover, he participated in many Law Moot Court competitions as a Researcher and a Mooter as well throughout his university life. He also played a role as a staff lawyer in ‘Free Legal Aid Camp Program’ organized by HTP (Help the Poor) Foundation. Moreover, in his career, he voluntarily worked for NILS Bangladesh, BUBT Rover Scout Group, BUBT Blood Donation Club and many more organizations.
