Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad is a practicing advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. His legal career started with Hasan & Associates as an associate Lawyer. In addition, he was in employment in Legal department of Banglalink, Premier Leasing & Finance Limited wherein he handled the legal matters of the Bank and assembled the experience on general banking and credit administration and operation. Apart from being a successful legal practitioner, he is an excellent leader. He leads a talented team of skilled lawyers versed in almost every legal areas of Bangladesh.
He worked as an external lawyer of Grameen phone Ltd., Unilever Bangladesh Ltd., Rural Power Company Ltd. (RPCL), Chittagong Port Authority, Fu Wang Group, Pran Group, Rural Electrification Board (REB), including leading National Banks and Leasing Companies in Bangladesh.
He has expertise in Corporate & Commercial Law, Banking Law, Security Law, Commercial Dispute Resolution, Loan Syndication, Taxation, Labour Law, Property Law, vetting of property documents, drafting all banking security documents, Loan syndication, drafting of Sale Deeds, several agreements such as Tripartite Agreement, Four partite Agreement, Charge Documents (fixed & floating), Lease Agreement and all other property related security documentation.
Mr. Md. Abul Kalam Azad is the Founding Chairman of Bangladesh Institute of Legal Development (BiLD) and currently holding the post.
